1. Rest

Just like with our gardens & plants, it can be our season of REST!  Read on for ideas on how to embrace the season!

 2. Clean out your pantry and organize it.

You may have things to pitch or be low on something.  Time to stock up for snow days!

 3. Try a new recipe!

Nothing says cozy like a simmering pot on the stove with the scent wafting through the house.  Bring on the comfort food!

 4. Get outside & take a walk!

Even better, take a hike in the woods!  There is no beauty like the serene, peaceful beauty of winter!  (Too cold? – see #5)

 5. Get layered!

Choices are abundant these days for warm undergarments! It’s no longer just “grandpa’s white waffle weave!”  There’s lace, florals, beautiful colors, and thermal fabric options galore!

 6. Gather some wood and make a fire in the fireplace!

A gas fireplace is a close second, and, ok, it’s less effort.  If neither of these works for you, make a fire outside.  A crackling fire is a multi-sensory experience!

 7. Feed the birds!

Standing at my kitchen window, looking at the snow-covered ground, watching the birds eat, I am filled with inner peace.  It’s an overwhelming feeling I can’t explain. Try it. 🤍

 8. Bake cookies!

When baking and big snowflakes softly fall outside, you can feel the magic of living in a snow globe!

 9. Plan!

Whether for next year’s garden, vacation, fitness plan, or whatever.  Winter is a great time to plan.

 10. Read a book!

You were likely too busy during the warmer months, but now you can pile on your new warm layers, sip your favorite hot beverage, and read & relax!  Take time to dream and cultivate the hope of SPRING!
