Want to learn how to use phenomena in your elementary classroom?
This is your chance to learn how to use phenomena effectively, so your students can get the most out of science time! We will focus on how to use phenomena throughout a unit, including using high-quality, open-source curricular examples from Next Generation Science Storylines to set up a science class where students are doing the figuring out.
Experienced NGSS facilitators from the University of Illinois Extension STEM Team want to help teachers in Cook County use phenomena more effectively to maximize their impact on student engagement and learning.
Professional learning will take place over two days for each grade level:
- First Grade: July 25 and 26 - 9 am to noon
- Second Grade: July 25 and 26 - 1 to 4 pm
- Fourth Grade: July 27 and 28 - 9 am to noon
- Fifth Grade: July 27 and 28 - 1 to 4 pm
All sessions include ISBE Professional Development Hours.
Registration closes July 8, 2022.
