Jack Schooley is the Horticulture Educator serving North Suburban Cook County. Jack brings his expertise to the people of Cook County, looking to use their gardens and green spaces to enrich their lives. He provides leadership and guidance for North Suburban Cook County Master Gardeners who facilitate horticulture education and support gardens across the area.
Jack received his Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Organismal Biology from the University of Montana and his Master of Science in Plant Biology and Conservation from Northwestern University.
Prior to joining Illinois Extension, Jack worked in both private and public-sector horticultural programs spanning from private landscaping to large-scale municipal projects. He specializes in houseplants and tropical plants, rare food crops, culturally important plants, and garden accessibility.
