Delivered virtually this year, this training will offer an overview of the resources that Extension can offer your organization.

This program will be delivered online via Zoom. All audiences are welcome and encouraged to attend this free program, but on-site technical assistance is available only to garden sites in Cook County, IL. Attend one or more of the following three sessions. Attendance at all three sessions is highly recommended for new gardens. Registration is free but required and space is limited.

We ask that at least three representatives (may include staff, volunteers, parents, teachers, garden coordinators, administrators) from your garden attend Extension's garden training series to jump-start planning, recruit helpers, schedule garden installations and develop programming.

  • Wednesday, March 2 from 6 to 8 PM - Introduction and Volunteer Engagement
  • Wednesday, March 16 from 6 to 8 PM - Basic and Advanced Vegetable Gardening
  • Wednesday, March 23 from 6 to 8 PM - Ornamentals/Native Plants and Food Donation Gardens & Curriculum
