Managing diabetes can be overwhelming.
I on Diabetes is a series of four 3-hour sessions designed for anyone interested in preventing or managing diabetes. The program breaks down important information on treatment goals and self-monitoring, managing carbohydrates, sodium, cholesterol and fat portions, planning meals, reading food labels, and using artificial sweeteners and herbs and spices. In each session, participants receive recipes, watch cooking demonstrations, and taste foods to meet their dietary needs. I on Diabetes is taught by University of Illinois Extension Nutrition and Wellness Educator and Registered Dietitian, Jenna Smith.
This class will be held April 21, April 28, May 5, and May 12 from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm at the Livingston County Extension Office (1412 S Locust Pontiac, IL 61764).
Cost is $25/per person or $40/per two people registering together. The cost of the program covers a program binder and a full meal for each session.
