Because I Matter: Breast Cancer Education

This ninety-minute session teaches MammaCare® Method, the recognized standard for performing breast self-examination (BSE). A MammaCare® certified BSE instructor provides info on breast cancer, risk factors, statistics, signs and symptoms, and guides you through the technique using tactually accurate breast models. Although BSE is not intended as a diagnostic method, it can be useful in noting any unanticipated changes in breast tissue and seeking timely health services.

By the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:

• Discriminate between lumps and normal tissue in a breast model
• Demonstrate the 5 Ps of the MammaCare Method of Breast Examination
• Feel more confident about performing MammaCare BSE
