#1 Watch the 3-minute training video
Remember to choose the go.illinois.edu option in Webtools, and keep the URL short

#2 Market your short URL.
When you promote your custom URL, do not include the https:// portion of the link. Simply use go.illinois.edu/xxxxx when marketing the link.

#3 Organize your short URLs in Webtools.
Once you create several custom URLs, you may wish to organize them in folders. Watch this 1-minute training video on organizing your short go.illinois links.

#4 Which to use? go.illinois.edu vs. bit.ly.
When your short URL points to a University of Illinois resource, create a go.illinois link. When your short URL points to someone else's resource, such as the Illinois Department of Agriculture or USDA, create a bit.ly link.
