Bougainvillea
Location: Prefers full sun and moist, well-drained soil.
Flowering: Colorful, papery blooms are actually colored leaves called bracts.
Maintenance: Can be overwintered as a dormant plant in a cool, dry location. They flower better when they become pot bound so don't repot too frequently and be careful not to damage the roots. Before growth starts in spring, prune back to control.
Additional notes:
- A tropical vine best used as a container vine trained on a trellis or as a hanging basket plant.
